The Liberty Belles' mission is to promote voter engagement and create a culture of political empathy across the country, starting with our nation’s young people. We are committed to fighting political divisiveness and propaganda with meaningful art and registered voters. We will accomplish this with the following strategies:
- Registering 10,000 18-30 year olds to vote all over the country, especially battleground states.
- Educating voters on their local candidates or issues through comedy and drag.
Empowering local drag, queer, or POC performers to be their state (or city's) Liberty Belle Ambassador after we leave.
Providing an entertaining hour long USO-style show that highlights the importance of political empathy and thinking locally.
Creating earned media for issues of equity, inclusion, and democracy.
The Liberty Belles Save America is a 501(c)(4) registered in the state of Oregon. Created by Kyle Ashby, Daniel Pulver, Anthony Hudson, Kajanne Pepper, and Brandon Harrison, this organization hopes to increase voter turnout in the 2018 primary and November elections. We’ve written an hour long musical to engage young people through drag, which is experiencing unprecedented like-ability all across the country. We plan to engage with local “get out the vote organizations” to coordinate our tour schedule, where we offer a free show to them in exchange for their help with a venue and recruiting attendees that have not yet registered to vote.
